DIGITAL DESIGNER FOR CATALYST

Catalyst is a global nonprofit supported by many of the world’s most powerful CEOs and leading companies to help build workplaces that work for women. My role as contract digital designer is to work directly under Art Director Jeannette Roy & the design team to support all aspects of Catalyst research, social, and event efforts.

2023 CATALYST AWARDS CONCEPT

The 2023 Catalyst Awards Conference & Dinner—the premier gender equity conference and awards event for advocates of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI)—will take place on March 30 in New York City and online. This year’s theme, Accelerating Equity on All Fronts, So Women Thrive, urges leaders to build more gender-equitable workplaces from the frontlines to the C-suite.

Our task as individual designers on the GMC team was to present our own concepts for how we envision the theme graphically, and how it will carry across the 2023 event calendar.

Ultimately, this was not the chosen concept for 2023 Catalyst Awards, but my concept and presentation helped to shape our winning theme over the top with the CEO’s approval and excitement.

MOTION

This concept is inspired by the elegance and versatility of minimalism. Utilizing shape blending, it evokes movement and energy, highlighting the theme of our initiative to accelerate equity forward. The gradient use from Catalyst Blue to Catalyst Red highlights the nuances of these two colors blended, and how they can represent the intersectionality and complexity of what equity looks like for every individual.

MARC GLOBAL EVENT

MARC (Men Advocating Real Change), is a Catalyst initiative that inspires men to leverage the unique opportunity and responsibility they have to be advocates for equity. This three-day global and regional event from Catalyst consisted of two days of virtual programming and one day of in-person programming in San Ramon, California, USA; Panama City, Panama; Zurich, Switzerland; and Singapore. Sponsored by Google, P&G, Dow, & Chevron.

My role, led by Senior Graphic Designer Chloe Welbaum, to produce all physical and digital assets for the Real Change with MARC Event. As a Catalyst Digital Designer, my role was to produce CVENT digital assets, physical on site signage, social media templates, animated video treatments, video overlays and speaker slates, full brand guide, iconography, and much more.


ANIMATION

For Catalyst’s research reports, we create supporter only and public infographic content as a way to share findings and gather more supporters. Targeting demographic is C-Suite and executive level workforce so data is delivered in an emotionally connective way to enact change at the top.
